Forward Steps with Empathy and Purpose

Gretchen is trained in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Therapy (ERT), to address anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD. By combining these techniques with an existential approach, Gretchen helps clients explore and find meaning and purpose in their lives. Her approach encourages people to understand their values and choices, helping them live more authentically and make decisions that align with their true selves.  She embodies warmth, empathy, and a genuine passion for guiding individuals through life’s challenges.

Gretchen is dedicated to helping clients build on their strengths and positive attributes, focusing on how their thoughts shape their realities. She guides them in understanding that discomfort is a natural part of life, and with the right strategies, they can learn to manage discomfort more effectively. By collaboratively finding solutions and addressing self-limiting beliefs, Gretchen empowers clients to leverage their qualities and break through barriers. Her approach emphasizes forward movement with authenticity and empathy. She believes in supporting clients to live happy, fulfilled lives by embracing their true selves and navigating life’s challenges with confidence.

Outside the Counseling Chair…

Born and raised in Austin, Gretchen is happy to have found her way back home after living in California, Atlanta, and Dallas. Now settled in the Lake Travis area, she enjoys life with her husband and two daughters. As a fellow parent, she understands the common issues and challenges that kids and parents frequently face.

Gretchen loves running, exercising, enjoying comedy in all its forms, brushing up on her Spanish, and exploring new places. Her deep curiosity and empathy for people drive her passion for understanding their stories and supporting them in finding purpose and peace.
